Google’s Pixel 2, launched in 2017, is their most important phone till now. You have to spend around $649 for the 64GB variant. While in its comparison stands the OnePlus 6, which is newly launched in May. It is much cheaper and will cost you $529, over $100 difference when compared to Pixel 2. OnePlus 6 also has outstanding features, which helps it in attracting fans and capturing a bigger chunk of the market.

Talking about their design, both the phones haven’t done much to boast in this section. They both look dull and have a straightforward design. The Pixel 2 comes in black, white and blue colors while OnePlus 6 comes in mirror black, midnight black, and silk white. Both phones are waterproof, but OnePlus 6 is not IP-certified, so you have to be careful before using it underwater. With the screen size of 6.68 inches, ultra-thin bezels and a headphone jack, OnePlus 6 has the edge over Pixel 2, which comes with the screen size of 5 inches.

The Pixel 2 has 12.2MP rear and 8MP front camera while OnePlus 6 has dual 16MP rear and 16MP front camera. The picture and video quality of the Pixel 2 is better than OnePlus 6. The images clicked on the Pixel 2 are sharper, and the videos are smoother and steadier than the OnePlus 6. The OnePlus 6 offers 240fps at 1080p which provide an upper hand as the Pixel 2 offers 120fps at 1080p. The slow-mo videos in the OnePlus 6 are exceptionally smooth.

Both the phones runs on Android Oreo and support the beta version of Google’s latest Android OS.

But overall, when we compared both the phones, we didn’t find much difference in them. The OnePlus 6 has an LED notification light, specific app lock and for top contacts and memos, and has a shelf page on the home screen. The Pixel 2 has the Google Lens, which works on its camera’s photo app and assistant. It took information from the Google’s database, about a landmark, book cover or any piece of art.

The OnePlus 6 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is more efficient than the Pixel 2, which comes with a Snapdragon 835 processor. Also, the OnePlus 6 gives the battery backup of 15h hours and 28 minutes, which is two hours more than the Pixel 2 when videos continuously play on Airplane mode.

In an overall comparison, the OnePlus 6 is a winner as it has a better processor and battery life and a slightly better design. The camera quality is also quite good which is the most common need for a person.
