Welcome to MD Help Serve!
We’ve got a lot to talk about and a lot to get through, so let’s get started! Here is where you’ll find out what to expect from MD Help Serve and a little bit about the team who keep it running and keep it updated regularly!
So, without further ado, here is all the behind the scenes that you’ve ever wanted to know!
The MD Team
We cheat a little bit by calling ourselves MD (we’re not actually doctors… obviously). We’re a team of super geeky college students that have a running joke that we’re so smart that we may as well actually be as smart as doctors.
We’re not actually that big headed, we were all called geeky a LOT when we were younger – not always in a good way, so now we’re taking those nasty words and turning them around. We are OWNING the geek label.
So, there’s three of us here, just a little team, but we always share the workload. First up is Tommy. Tommy was born in West Michigan and was raised single-handedly by his mother. It wasn’t easy, but he definitely took solace in the throws of coding and development. There’s nothing he can’t do in the back end of a website and on the internet. He’s your man for everything technical and complex.
Then there’s Simon. Simon is an absolute whizz at building computers. He built his first tower when he was 11 and basically hasn’t stopped since. His parents are much of the same and are the ones with actual doctorates (albeit in very different fields) although altogether a very smart family. Now, after studying computer science at college, he now owns his own business refurbishing old computers and selling them on for hella dollar.
And last but not least, there’s Miles. Miles is sort of the brain that keeps everything running. He is a huge maths geek and does everything imaginable with numbers. It’s really an incredible thing to watch in action!
MD Help Serve
So we started this blog after a sweaty gaming session in our first semester of college. We all knew we were super smart and, despite doing very mentally strenuous degrees, we are all quite creative and we needed an outlet for this creativity.
It started out as a simple forum where people could ask questions about their homework and ask any advice regarding technology that they had or were wanting to buy.
Since then, it’s grown into a place where we post information about things that we care about and offer our recommendations for all sorts of technology, hardware, software, games, and god knows what else!
Our Community
If you’re a part of the geek community, you know how close-knit the community is. That community extends to our blog, where we encourage people to get involved and really start a conversation with us as authors and as fellow geeks.
The community is real and, while there are a few regular commenters and members of our community who have become very good friends, everyone is welcome to become a part.
You’re all welcome to become a part of this community and we do actively encourage you all to comment on posts, send us messages and do whatever it is you’d like to do to be able to communicate with us.
We know how hard it can be to be a geek in the real world, that’s why MD Help Serve is a safe space where we can all get together and shoot the shit about the geeky things that we love!
